Improving Instruction: What Librarians can Learn from the Study of College Teaching

Abstract

Provides an introduction to issues related to instructional improvement in academic libraries through a review of related issues from the literature of college teaching. Presents selected results from a national survey of academic librarians regarding the activities in which they engage to improve their work as teachers, as well as the degree to which their instructional work is evaluated as part of professional review processes.
