Indian Land Dancing
Debra Yepa-Pappan
Bricolage community mural section by Debra Yepa-Pappan and Chris Pappan. The entire mural was created along with John Joe and Gerry Lang.
According to Chicago's WLS Channel 7 News, as of August 22, 2009:
The only piece of public art in Chicago designed by Native Americans is now complete.
It's called Indian Land Dancing, and it's located on the walls of the Foster Avenue underpass off o of Lake Shore Drive.
Mayor Daley was among many others on hand Saturday for the dedication. The 3400-square-foot mosaic tells the history of Native Americans in Chicago.
Several neighborhood, art and youth groups collaborated in creating the new work of art.
