Description

Cambodian American Heritage Museum & Killing Fields Museum exterior detail, photograph by DePaul student Matthew Mrozinski.

According to a Cambodian Association of Illinois brochure, "The front facade of the museum shows the Apsara (Celestial Angel), and Brahama (Hindu God of Creation) flanked by the four noble dwellings (proverbs) of metta (unconditional love), karuna (compassion), mudita (appreciation) and uppekha (equinimity). The sculpture was created by our artist in residence Chhoeut Tuy."
