Abstract
Sepsis is a common clinical condition with a high mortality rate. Prompt recognition and treatment improves patient outcomes. This literature review aims to explore research that addresses the populations awareness of sepsis, as well as the educational materials and programs available to the public. Additionally, the existing educational programs as well as the barriers frequently encountered by patients with sepsis are examined. In order to improve the public’s health literacy, it is essential that the complexity of sepsis is acknowledged so that appropriate educational programs can be initiated.
