Description
Using data from the Chicago Department of Public Health Epidemiology & Public Health Informatics Program, Sydney Thai generated three maps for his GEO441: GIS for Community Development course. The second map displays Teenage Birth Rates and Socioeconomic Hardship by Chicago community area. Teenage Birth Rates are classified into two categories represented by yellow and red shading, respectively. The Socioeconomic Hardship Index was formulated using six socioeconomic indicators which, in sum, generate scores ranging from 1 to 100.
