Louis Abelly. Vie de saint Vincent de Paul. Paris: F. Lambert, 1668.

Louis Abelly, the author of the first biography of Vincent de Paul, published in 1664, found that his original work was too lengthy and cumbersome for his readers. This led him to publish a second edition in 1668, more than one-third smaller. Its interest lies in his corrections of the first edition, visible on nearly every page, and in his additions, particularly from documents not otherwise known. This transcription follows the printed text without any modernizing of the spelling. A table of contents appears at the end of the second volume.
