Project Abstract
Our project focuses on our internship site for the community concentration at The Violence Prevention Project (VP) in the Center for Community Research at DePaul University. In this poster, we discuss our involvement and internship experiences at the site. For example, we were able to contribute our own ideas through literature reviews to support papers and grant writing about community violence effects on African American adolescents. Experiences like these have helped us to learn about existing research that illustrates the contextual factors influencing African American adolescents. We will discuss this in the poster as well as how this gives us insight for our future research endeavors.
