Abstract
In 2020, the U.S. Census Bureau will conduct its once-every-10-years count of people living in the country. The results of this census, as well as the other censuses the bureau conducts every year, fuel research and help determine the distribution of federal dollars. This article looks at research uses of the data and how the census has changed through the centuries.
