Abstract
DePaul's Vision 2018 strategic plan encompassed five core goals: 1) enhance academic quality and support educational innovation, 2) deepen the university's distinctive connectin to the global city of Chicago, 3) strengthen DePaul's Catholid and Vincentian identity, 4) foster diversity and inclusion and 5) ensure a business meodel that builds the university's continued strength and education excellence. This article gives specific examples of how Vision 2018 was actualized under the Rev. Dennis H. Holtschneider, C.M.'s leadership as DePaul's president. Among the initiatives launched under Vision 2018 were the creation of new colleges and degree programs, the FY@broad study-abroad program, online courses and the federal McNair Scholars program for low-income and minority students preparing for doctoral study and academic careers.
