Project Abstract
Lurie Children’s Gender and Sex Development Program is one of its kind in the Chicagoland region, providing services to intersex/DSD (Disorders of Sex Development), transgender, gender non-conforming (GNC), and gender expansive youth. This poster will provide an overview of the program, highlighting the specific needs of the populations that it serves. In addition to this, details of the specific projects that I was involved with will also be discussed, including: DSD-Translational Research Network (TRN) clinic, trans and GNC teen groups, and focus groups assessing co-occurring issues of depression and anxiety among trans and GNC youth. Aside from these projects, the poster will also emphasize on how this internship helped me begin my career path in becoming a provider for LGBTQI+ populations.
