Dinner Table II, 2' x 9', 2005
Dinner Table II was inspired by Judy Chicago's Dinner Party installation. Dinner Table II is a table set for my late parents and their offspring of 7 children. The table cloth is composed of 5 embellished cloth rice sacks. The beaded runner is text that narrates my mother's lament when my father was near fatally-shot in a business dispute 71 years ago. The black chopsticks standing in the rice bowls are symbols to indicate the passing of those family members.
